Basket Case

by Aversion Productions

Premiered Friday, Oct 2, 2020 at 7p Central

Based on Frank Henenlotter’s 1980’s cult classic Basket Case - a chilling & campy tale of revenge, jealousy & blood. Charming, country bumpkin, Duane Bradley arrives at a rundown New York City motel, possessing only a backpack, basket & mysterious past. Duane meets a cast of eccentric characters, including the sexy & strong-willed Sharon. Through their shared histories of pain & suffering, Duane & Sharon develop a romance. The couple dream of escape and starting a better life. But is their bond thicker than blood... in a sequence of twisted events, our story unfolds with a grim finale when the truth is revealed: “what’s in the basket?”

Aversion Productions is the brainchild of founders, Jared Blount & Kara Luther-Chapman. After a night of merriment, the two constructed the idea of creating a think-tank of artists, friends, and creators - collaborating on unique and exceptional artistic media endeavors. Feast of the Ass: An Excerpt

by Floor Banana

Premiered Friday, Oct 2, 2020 at 8:30p Central

In the first Dark Age, the Feast of the Ass was a topsy-turvy event honoring society’s lowest members at the expense of its typical hierarchy. In this excerpt from a longer work inspired by that tradition, our traveling players present a raucous puppet show reminding everyone that the ass may be a metaphor for the lowly and foolish, but it's also a notoriously stubborn workhorse who packs a hell of a kick.

Floor Banana Productions is a partnership of partnerships, comprising comedy duo The Martin Duprass (Lauren Thomas-Martin and Jeremy Martin) and two-person art rock act Fresh Juice Party (Pratibha Gautam and Craig Casey). The foursome’s first project was the surreal music video for FJP’s song “Invisible Flame,” followed by the sci-fi comedy short film PimPam and the medical-procedural parody web series Turd Autopsy. Watch out for season number 2!

Jeremy Martin - Story/Writer/Props/Voices

Pratibha Gautam - Story/Director/Editor/Voices
Lauren Thomas-Martin - Story/Prop Master/Voices

Craig Casey - Story/Music Director/Voices

One Star

by Namron Players Theatre / Sarah Fenner King

Premiered Saturday, Oct 3 at 7p Central

You know those people who have the audacity to leave one-star reviews of national treasures? Those people who find glee in finding fault in awesome historical landmarks? Sheila is that person, and unfortunately Kara has the unenviable job of replying to all one-star reviews in the name of customer service. Kara desperately tries to fight Sheila's entitled criticism with facts and kindness, but there is only so much a dedicated Parks Service employee can take before she must defend the honor of her beloved national parks and attractions.

The Namron Players Theatre is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to producing new works by local artists. It was co-founded in 2012 by Sarah Fenner King Bartell, and she spent the first 7 seasons running all aspects of the Namron Players from the ground up. She was able to hand off the reins to a dedicated team of experts in 2018 to focus on her career, and is delighted to reunite for this project!

Sarah Fenner King - Playwright, Director, Performer (Kara)
Lauren K. Rawls-Dale - Performer (Sheila)

Sis. Amiss

by Brianna Gagné

Premiered Friday, Oct 9, 2020 at 8:30p Central

An utterly disoriented Sis. Stallings finds herself entering the mission field for the third time after two previous failed attempts. We learn about her past misadventures through the characters she encountered while out in the field. Her faith is faltering and doesn't know if she can find the courage to do it again. When God calls you on a mission will you pick up? Or will you simply be amiss?

Proud Cuban-American actress and writer from Miami, Florida. Most recently she headlined and produced the first 'Solo Trio', a night of strictly female solo plays at The Tank in Midtown Manhattan. Prior to that in 2019, she was awarded best-actress in NY Winterfest with the play 'Sis. Amiss'. The play "follows a Mormon missionary, who has heart, but not much common sense." (Times Square Chronicles, Feb 2019). She is excited to be returning to Theatre Crude and finally performing her solo show "out west"!
